Abstract
This article discusses the da’wah communication carried out by Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus on the social media platform Instagram. Although actively engaging in da’wah on the @halimahalaydrus account, Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus intriguingly chooses not to share any pictures or photos of herself. This raises questions regarding the da’wah communication that focuses on social interactions, considering that facial expression is a significant factor in shaping perceptions during communication. The article employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings of this study demonstrate that Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus adeptly performs social interactions, successfully establishing closeness with her followers on Instagram. She utilizes various available features such as live broadcasts, highlights, stories, and comment sections to interact with her mad'u (target audience for dakwah). This study concludes that not showing her face in da’wah communication on Instagram does not hinder the process of social interaction. Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus remains capable of fostering effective communication with her followers and achieving her da’wah objectives despite not sharing her pictures.
Abstrak
Artikel ini membahas mengenai komunikasi dakwah yang dilakukan oleh Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus di media sosial Instagram. Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus aktif berdakwah di akun @halimahalaydrus namun menariknya, dia memilih untuk tidak membagikan gambar atau foto dirinya. Hal ini menimbulkan pertanyaan seputar bagaimana komunikasi dakwahnya yang berfokus pada interaksi sosial, mengingat wajah merupakan faktor penting dalam pembentukan persepsi saat berkomunikasi. Artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif model deskriptif. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus mampu melakukan interaksi sosial dengan baik dan berhasil menciptakan kedekatan dengan para pengikutnya di Instagram. Dia memanfaatkan berbagai fitur yang tersedia, seperti siaran langsung, sorotan, cerita, dan kolom komentar, untuk berinteraksi dengan mad'u (target dakwah). Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tidak menampilkan wajahnya dalam berkomunikasi dakwah di Instagram tidak menghambat terjadinya proses interaksi sosial. Ustazah Halimah Alaydrus tetap mampu membina komunikasi yang efektif dengan pengikutnya dan mencapai tujuan dakwahnya meskipun tidak membagikan gambar dirinya.
